steve shorney

Yoga has occupied Steve’s life for about 12 years, in which time he has deepened his practice in India and elsewhere on his travels. He is formally qualified in the Sivananda tradition, and borrows from several styles, including Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow yoga, tailoring his teaching to suit the abilities of his students.

Mindfulness is at the heart of his practice and teaching, finding expression in both the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga as a part of everyday living.

His classes are structured for all abilities, and his timetable includes sessions for beginners, improvers, and even “senior” yogis.

Steve also offers yoga as therapy and private sessions, and holds regular meditation sessions and workshops

sally snowden

Sally has been practising yoga for more than 30 years. For half that time she has taught both adults and children, offered ante- and post-natal classes, and worked with special needs students and even prisoners.

After practising classical Iyengar yoga in London Sally trained as a teacher in the Inner Yoga method with Jenny Beeken. Inner Yoga aims to transform body, mind and emotions by combining intuitive understanding with classical yoga postures (asanas).

Sally’s classes are an all-inclusive mix of age, gender and ability; reflecting a philosophy of mutual respect and collective learning.

Sally has practiced yoga through three pregnacies, and brings experience and specialist training to her Friday morning sessions. She will offer two classes :

  • Ante-natal : a one-hour class for mums-to-be designed to improve core/back strength and posture, enhance breathing and relaxation and encourage better sleep.

  • Post-natal : a one-hour session for mums and babies (from 6 weeks), which will offer new mothers a chance to stretch, relax  and unwind and bond with their new babies in a supportive and calm environment.

diana sands

For Diana the path to bliss began with a stressful job and the challenge of raising two small children! A weekend retreat taught by Ruth White (direct pupil of BKS Iyengar) showed her a new way to live her life. Four years later she enrolled on Ruth's Yoga Alliance 500 hour teacher training course and by the time she completed it, she was teaching 7 yoga classes each week.

For Diana, yoga is all about finding a wholesome happy way to live.  She says “It means living fully in the Now, without worrying about the past or the future. Being focused in the present moment, through yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation shows you how to enjoy your life to the full”

She describes her style of yoga as eclectic, drawing from Iyengar training, periods of Ashtanga Vinyasa and Jivamukti practice, and a love of vinyasa flow. She teaches a mixture of static poses with focus on alignment, flowing sequences, breathwork, philosophy, and guided meditation, in other words…..

feel good yoga

Take a deep breath, roll back your shoulders and smile.  Do it now. Doesn’t that feel good?  Feel Good Yoga focuses on the breathwork, big opening stretches and positive philosophy that make you feel great.  It is good for beginners, but not just beginners. It will challenge your balance, your strength, your flexibility and your assumptions about yourself, but only as much as you want to. This is Hatha Yoga with a smile!

norah greatrix

Norah has been studying yoga for over 10 years & has taught within the UK & globally. Norah’s passion and firm foundation in Ashtanga yoga led her to further her yoga studies by travelling India and studying under B N S Iyengar & M V Chidananda at the Mysore Mandala.

By starting with the physical body with Asana, she helps students connect to the powerful part of themselves so they feel confident in their body and spirit. This has lead Norah to branch into prenatal yoga where she creates a supportive environment for pregnant women so that they can draw upon their inherent strength and open to their innate softness and ability to nurture both themselves and their baby during this time and beyond into young motherhood.

Norah has studied under a network of complementary practitioners in the field of pregnancy: including doulas, midwives, prenatal yoga teachers, an osteopath and a cranial-sacral therapist. She also holds a Level 3 certificate in Personal training.

Yvette Meredith

Yvette is a Fitness Trainer with 20 years experience who fell in love with Yoga 8 years ago.  Since then, she used her expanded teaching skills  to “redress the balance of daily life”.

On her new chosen path she has qualified as a Stott Pilates Teacher and done Yoga Teaching Training with Dr Elena Voyce (Teach Yoga)  Duncan Wong (Yogic Arts) and David Swenson (Ashtanga).  Yvette says: “I love teaching Yoga and the rewards it brings and I am continually developing my  knowledge with highly respected Yoga trainers, such as Natasha Rizopoulos, Jason Crandell,  Matthew Sweeney and Cameron Shayne so that I can share as much as I can with my classes.”

“Yoga helps me to look at life with a different perspective and I am more interested in what really matters.  I am fascinated by the grounding that Yoga brings and I am equally captivated by the power of inner peace”.

As both a Stott Pilates and a Yoga practitioner, Yvette is influenced by postural alignment, and teaches a dynamic blend of intelligently sequenced and mindful Vinyasa Flow.  “I draw upon some of the ancient traditions of Ashtanga, while incorporating more modern styles of Yoga.”
